Eligibility for MSME Registration

Micro Enterprises

  • Up to Rs. 1 crore can be invested in machinery, plants, or equipment.
  • The yearly revenue is less than Rs. 5 crore.

Small Enterprises

  • Equipment, plant, or machinery investments total less than Rs. 10 crore.
  • Less than Rs. 50 crore is the annual turnover.

Medium-Sized Enterprises

  • A machine, plant, or equipment investment cannot be more than Rs. 50 crore.
  • The total annual revenue is not more than Rs. 250 crore.

Businesses must align with the specified investment and turnover limits of their respective categories to be eligible for Udyam registration.

1. PAN Card Number: This is your business’s permanent account number.

2. Aadhaar Number: Depending on your business type:
– For sole proprietorship: Aadhaar card of the owner.
– For partnership: Aadhaar card of the managing partner.
– For Hindu Undivided Family (HUF): Aadhaar card of the Karta.
– For LLP, Company, Cooperative Society, or Trust: Aadhaar card of the authorized signatory.

3. GST Number: This is your Goods and Services Tax identification number.

  • Go to the Udyam Registration website.
  • Click on ‘For new entrepreneurs not registered as MSME.
  • Enter your ‘Aadhaar Number’ and ‘Name,’ then click ‘Validate & Get OTP.’
  • Check your mobile for the OTP, enter it, and click ‘Validate.’
  • Next, verify your PAN details. Enter ‘Organization Type,’ ‘PAN’ number, and click ‘Validate.’ Specify if you filed last year’s ITR and have a GSTIN.
  • Fill in the Udyam application form with details like entrepreneur’s name, mobile number, enterprise name, location, address, enterprise status, bank info, activity, NIC code, and employees count.
  • Provide investment and turnover details, select the declaration, click ‘Submit,’ and get the Final OTP.
  • Enter the final OTP and submit. Receive your Udyam e-registration certificate via email.
